Ok so down to the last part of my computer overhall. Just finished upgrading the cpu to a AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor an MSI 790FX-GD70 motherboard and 8gb of Kingston DDR3 1600 memory, and an Antec True Power 1000watPSU. Al thats left is the video card, I am tryign to decide between the 5850 and 5870 I can afford either, I will probably only be running on a single monitor for another month or two then go with three monitors. Currently I am using an Asus 24" monitor with native res of 1900x1080.

With all that said I am trying to figure which is the card to get. Is the 5850 able to push enough pixels to run older and newer dx10 and 11 games across three monitors when I get the other two? Any suggestions from those of you using the two cards ot there?

from the benchmarks I've seen the 5850 would do the job fine. but if you can afford the 5870 go for it. it is worth the money and will postpone you upgrading the graphics card in a year or two. y'know, like futureproofing.
