version tracker pro--how do you keep track of all your software?

saw an pop up for this software--version tracker pro

what do you use to keep track of your software? and versions?

I just got a new system, and I hav just been writing it down...pen and paper style!

Most of my programs automatically notify me if an update is available.

FileHippo has a portable checker. It is limited but does most of the common apps.

Then I also use Update Notifier which is much more extensive.

With these two, it should check 80% of the apps you have.

Almost all programs have a "notify when updates are available" feature these days anyway.

If they don't, then it is usually a paid program that you need to purchase an update for, like MS Office, etc. I keep a flash drive with my free software on it, and I regularly check Majorgeeks.com for updated versions, such as CCleaner, etc.
