One of my PCs used by the wife and three kids has XP Home and always has 1-4 users logged in at once. It seemed sort of slow with multiple users logged in so I decided to upgrade the memory yesterday. Here's the specs before:
Athlon XP 2000+ on an ECS K7VTA3 mobo
512MB PC2700 RAM
ATI Radeon 7200 AGP card (definitely not a gaming machine)
160GB ATA-100 HD

I have several 1GB sticks of RAM laying around doing nothing... so I decided to trade the 512MB of PC2700 RAM for 2GB of PC2100 RAM. I tweaked the memory clock in BIOS from 133MHz up to 166MHz.... it is too early to tell if my upgrade for no money is better or not. Since the PC2100 RAM seems to like a 166MHz clock, maybe I'll try 200MHz next.
