My current system

Asus A7M266D Dual motherboard
Amd Athlon Mp 1800+ processor x2
1 GB pc2100 ddr
Radeon 9800
2x Western Digital 100mb

Ive had this system for over 3 years and its served me well but time has taken its toll, id like to upgrade for around $500 and keep the system for another 2+ years before i do a complete rebuild. I was thinking along the lines of an X2 processor, motherboard and ram....everything else seems to be sufficient.

Update GIGABYTE GA-K8U-939 Socket 939 ULi M1689 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
Model #: GA-K8U-939
$58.00 $58.00
Update CORSAIR XMS 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered
$122.00 $122.00
Update AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor Model ADA3800BVBOX - Retail
$322.00 $322.00

Subtotal: $502.00

What do you guys think of these choices? This is considering im sticking with and agp motherboard because i dont want to buy a new gfx card anytime soon, im happy with medium settings in games. Will i still have the same responsiveness as my dual processors? Any quirks like power issuse or other incompatibilities you can think of? Thanks for any input.

If your truly looking to upgrade to something that will last for the future I would definitely go for the PCI-E board. AGP is simply dying out and there are many great affordable PCI-E cards out there.
