I am learning about technical side of resolutions, displays and stuff like sampling theorem, signal processing, etc etc....I am doing this Just for fun, just cause I find it a cool subject.
whats the differnce between counting pixels in a resolutions by A.) How many pixels there are. B.) How many Rows/Columns of Pixels there are. C.) the Length of Pixels. I am only familiar with counting it as the number of pixels. I.E. 1024x768 means there are 1,024 pixels horizontal and 768 pixels vertical. But this article i just read, said that number, 1024x768 could also be the number of rows of pixels. Which I've never heard of counting it that way.
And I believe counting the Length of Pixels refers to the PPI (pixels Per Inch) am I correct ?
EDIT - Ok I think that I get the difference now. When its an Image Resolution it's counted as Pixels per Column/Row and when it's a Display resolution its counted as the total number of Pixels Horizontal and Vertical. Am I correct ?
