Yours?
I was actually fishing for, "Not yet." Or something along those lines.Erek doesn't sell anything, he just posts random eBay finds he comes across.
heheUltra rare? Must be an erek thread.
A lot of this stuff will really screw with the younger generations having to actually first determine what interrupts and DMA channels are available and then physically setting jumpers on a card to those available resources. lol
I'll never understand why people brag about how complex things were back then. I am so glad I don't have to deal with that shit any more. If you think it's so cool, then start soldering your own motherboards together or something.
because your comment above was phrased just like any number of "Millenials will never be able to XXX"Since this seems to be directed at Burticus and my comments...
Um? How did our comments come off as "bragging" that things were more complicated or that the complexity of manually configuring things was is some way "cool"??? Amused or reminiscing maybe, considering the subject of the thread IS about older devices that required manual configuration seems like perfectly legitimate commentary. I looked at the listing and that was one of the first things that came to my mind was memories of dealing with that stuff. I'm also happy to not have to deal with it "much" anymore. Still do at times though. Load a system up with cards and whatnot and it is quite easy to run out of PCIe lanes and other resources in a server when the RAID controller, multi-port 10gbe card, serial port (yes they are still widely used in commercial applications), or even in desktops with multiple video cards and then add in an NVMe card and you can quickly run into the same things. Might not need to set jumpers but you might need to shuffle cards around in slots as well as disabling and modifying resources in the BIOS.
at that pic... okay fair enough. Was not really my intention though. Moreso pointing out that everything has been play and play for so long that many would be spending some time scratching their head and looking online to figure out how to get a card like this working. That along with the requisite entires in the config.sys or autoexec.bat to load the drivers with the appropriate resources as well. I did read that schools in Texas are going to start teaching cursive again though.

<snipping a pile of attitude>
You realize the person I quote replied and, A) acknowledged the humor in my post, and B) admitted it did sound like that, albeit unintentionally.
I pointed out how something could easily be interpreted, and then gave a related (humerous meme) example. I didn't feel the need to type paragraphs in response.
Feeling defensive, bro?
