I am troubleshooting a computer (not mine) that shuts off. I went through three power supplies and think it's not the psu. LOL! I noticed the computer is now giving the option to shut down or reboot so I am thinking it's overheating. Isn't that a symptom? The cpu temps in the bios and software look okay (if it's accurate) as they're only around the low 30s.

Is this the place to post such a question? I am not sure what's wrong, obviously, but trying to figure out whether this computer can be salvaged or if it should be written off.

It's old - AMD AM2 generation and one of the temps - I guess it's one of the chips on the motherboard? - is at 63 degrees which seems high (it8718).

Anyone have an idea what's wrong? The computer can boot up and stay on for maybe a minute or two. Then it gives the message to shut down/reboot - if you don't do anything, it just turns off abruptly.
