Hey guys... I'm jsut wondering what your thoughts on my overclock are... can I safley push it a bit more w/o losing stability? Am I don;ing soemthing horribly wrong?

Mobo: Abit NF-7
CPU: AMD Athlon-M 2400+ Barton
HSF: Thermaltake silent boost
RAM: 2x512mb PC3200 Mushkin Blue (http://www.mushkin.com/epages/Mushk...e017b70542740c0a80102067b/Product/View/991139)
used Arctic Silver-brand cremique thermal compund.

Screenie with the OC info/temps

(temps=idling)

(EDIT: Ram setting in BIOS are set to "optimal")
(Edit #2: hmm, my bad, could this be moved to General Overclocking)?

temps and voltages look good. Only way to know if you can push it farther, is to try and push it farther.

I'd of course torture test it with Prime95 and 3DMark before declaring anything stable.

so far so good, ur not gonna stop there now are you??

u probably can clock your ram a little faster try 2-3-3-6/7/8 run it at a 1:1 ratio as long as you can pass prime95 for a few hours keep pushing it. also do run 3dmark a lot once the scores start to bottleneck then your pretty much done. great for u too that u can get pretty cool temps on your cpu with that silent boost. i have one too they don't run that cool for me, granted u have an m and probably a good case setup. good luck.

Oh yeah.. You're only at 1.65V in BIOS. Ramp up the FSB a bit more if you can and see if you can hit 2.5/+GHz. You can kick that thing up to 1.8/1.85V (highest I would go) and back the V back down too. Mine arrives from ExcaliburPC tomorrow. I paid a bit extra and grabbed one of these.

Who said overclocking was safe or stable?? LOL

Only one way to find out the answer to your question, and only you can answer it

I doubt you'll get more speed without raising the voltage, but that is a nice OC for the voltage/temp you are running. You definitely need to run some stress tests and find out if in fact it's actually stable.

On a NF2 mobo like that one you should change your RAM cycle time to 10 or 11. Actually gives better performance.

I second that.

Running my memory at 2-2-3-7 was actually slower in benches and performance than 2-2-3-10. I need to try 11... I got a pretty signifigant boost by going to 10, so I started playing with it...
