Thermaltake Giant II heatpipe installation Q

I'm installing this thing, and the block that goes on the back of the card is confusing me.

First off, is it supposed to go right on those resistors on the back?
That seems a little odd / useless.

Second, the manual points to the black backing on the rear block and says "thermal tape." Do I remove that black backing or just leave it alone and put the block on the resistors? I tried lifting the corner of the slick black plastic but there seems to be nothing behind it.

lol i just installed this like 20 min ago. That part confused me as well because i thought you had to peel that off to get to the tape. I peeled a bit till i realized that there was no tape under there so i left it on =( anyway what i did was just put the block on and screwed it down. It's pretty firm once screwed down.

Heh, cool. I just went and finished mine and installed it, but I won't really be able to test it out until I figure out how to positition my new #*#$ PSU in my case, as it only fits upside-down and I don't really need that 92mm intake fan sucking at the top lid of my case.
