Right. It seems that way. A couple friends and I are joking about the same thing. They are.. to specially selected reviewers.
Combos are up, but don't need the monitors or cpu/motherboard - and while the prices are good if you are going to be building a rig anyway, they aren't good enough to consider reselling to even break even - so...I wait.A LOT OF COMBOS ARE UP AT NEWEGG, ALL IN STOCK

Darn it AMD, I thought you said you were delaying so you would have enough stock -- I never even saw the 1080TI liquid cooled in stock anywhere.
Not really. Day late and a dollar short, unfortunately. Only thing Vega has going for it is Freesync.Am I correct in understanding that Vega 64 is not really a gaming focused card? All of the reviews I've seen today seemed underwhelming. Genuinely curious why anyone would want these, a 1080 is faster and much more power efficient. Am I missing something?

You're right.Freesync is a mighty big ace - as evidenced by the poll at the start of the thread. Freesync monitors are available 5:1 from newegg over gsync monitors, and they cost $200-$300 less than equivalently equipped gsync monitors.
The performance of the Vega is right on par with 1080 level - which if you've been following along -- is all it was ever supposed to be. So no surprises there. AMD typically has higher power draw and subsequently greater heat generation than Nvidia -- they have for the last several generations. Nvidia is the outright performance leader right now, but with freesync capability the ball as moved - it's no longer only about max FPS. If you are in freesync range - your gaming experience will be smooth as butter.
So are there just no more limited edition silver cards - period --- unless you buy a bundle pack? Nothing seems to be hitting nowinstock except bundles or black cards for the last couple days.

Yuck. I didn't know that.Limited edition Vega was only for launch day according OCUK, and it should no longer be offered by any retailer/etailer once shipments are cleared, so now vanilla black vega 64 replaces the LE price and jump straight from 499$ to 599$.. its now the official MSRP for Vega 64 but now it includes two free games. The original 499$ price for the black vega64 was only intended for launch day shipments with a rebate made for AMD to retailers.
Yuck. I didn't know that.
And there was only one single card offered at $499 on launch day that I saw anywhere. A MSI on Newegg. Every other card I was aware of was $599. I signed up for all the notices from newegg and now in stock.
There doesn't seem to be any liquid cooled black cards either eh?
This launch, and my inability to simply buy a watercooled card is to the point were I'm considering just selling my three freesync monitors and buying a single gsync monitor. This is pretty much nonsense. Higher prices than advertised or unwanted bundle deals that aren't really even deals. That monitor or motherboard/CPU options are cheaper at microcenter without the coupon codes.
I should have kept my darn Fury X cards.
Do we know will Vega 56 come in silver on August 28? Will it be $499 now? I'd consider a pair of 56 cards for crossfire, but the fact crossfire isn't even working on Vega now has me confused and skeptical too.
Once again. Lame lame launch.
in a year it'll probably be half the price ($300-400is for watercooled). that's how the Fury X were.Yeah I may just skip Vega at this point and stick with my Fury. I planned on getting a card day one but there has been no stock of the water cooled model at all. I had alerts setup on nowinstock and nothing showed up, it was only available in bundles. Losing interest I guess, if i can't get it around launch I'd rather just wait for a sale.
Ultra wide Gsync option should kinda mimic your experience with triple panel as you maintain similar aspect ratio but without the annoying bezels, 5 years ago I tried to do triple panel, bezels took me away from it, even modded the panels to remove bezels and keep them as close as possible and it was just a nope to me.
If there was a 38" gsync monitor right now I'd jump. I had the 35" acer and felt the vertical realestate seemed to short - having just come from a Dell 3014 with a 2560x1600 res, and also trying a 32" Omen at the same time with a 1440p res. The 35" widescreen was ~ equivalent to a 27" monitor vertically - and I'd been using the 30" dell for a couple years -- it just seemed too short. I'm afraid I'd have the same gripe now. (especially since right now my displays are 81" across -- so probably two gripes, height and width).
I loved what the 35" widescreen did for new games at the time....at least games that supported the FOV properly (which wasn't enough titles)
However, I didn't like it for desktop use at all. If you opened a window it was always goofy to have it maximized with tons of white space so you'd have to use windows snap to feature to take up half of the screen on the left or right. But then any window you were working on was forcing you to look left or right all the time instead of straight ahead. I think that's why I personally like three monitors the best. My primary work focus can be straight forward, and I still have easy snap to function in windows, or can drag something to the left and right monitors as well.
Oh and with three monitors - I don't think anyone could fail to be absolutely impressed with something like Star Wars Battlefront flying or Battlefield 1 flying. It's drop your jaw impressive to have your entire peripheral vision (and beyond) filled with the modern graphics these engines are capable of --- specifically for flying or driving titles! I have a 135" nice, high quality projector with a nice sound system (7.1.4 Dolby Atmos system), --- and yet for gaming the three HP Omen's on a title with a FOV that supports the eyefinity well and my little desktop speakers --- is just way more impressive!!!
that one is freesyncAcer have a nice ultrawide Curved 37.5" 3840x1600 IPS 10 bit Gsync (40-75hz) XR382CQK yeah.. an expensive one.. but cheaper than the LG 38UC99 Freesync with equal specs so I think not bad at all...

Now that IS the real question.....The Vega56 is absolutely worth the listed msrp from all the data i have seen. (Even i would be tempted)Anywhere in the US to pre-order a Vega 56 at MSRP yet?

Hell I should be able to fetch ~$220 for my remaining 290s not including selling the blocks.
