The [H]ardForum Perpetual Freebies Thread

noctua nt-h2 paste, 80mm fan, usb to DVI adapter, some power supply adapter (think for an HP), sabrent sata m.2 drive to 2.5" sata enclosure, 5x 120mm thermaltake riing rgb fans with broken rgb (some red, some whiteish) with required controller (which now only controls speed and only has 3 fan outputs), a couple heatsinks (one which I got in this thread) a thermalright and a bequiet. The bequiet is all bent from shipping damage and trying to bend it back (really bent), and they both have a haugpauge of hardware to make them work since some was missing. Will include some various screws but you have to be creative to mount them to am4 (which I did). Comes with 2 135mm silent wings 3 fans. Mining stuff. Take as much as you want, I have regional and flat rate boxes so send me a PM for pricing but $15 per box likely. All of it probably fits in 2 boxes. "500 watt" turbolink atx power supply. Piece of junk I got in some computer and used it for a spare, never actually had any issues with it. Get this stuff off my desk.

Tracfone SIM (TF256PSIMV97N) -- Should have 1 month of CMDA service (Verizon) on it ($25 value). Ended up buying a 1 year plan on a preactivated sim from eBay. Not sure if its tied to the iPhone SE I bought it with but I don't think it is. As it will only cost me a stamp and envelope, I'd be happy to send it to someone who wants to try it at zero cost.

Does this allow you to add another display? I’d like an extra on my work laptop but the dock won’t support any more.
Beware, these take CPU effort to work so you will notice high CPU use if you were to say ply a 1080p video full screen. YMMV. I have one like this and Like it despite limitations. (USB3 matters here too)

I don’t think outlook is that intensive.

anything for form factor.....just need to be am3 or am3+ with 4 ram slots. let me know.

I have to see if my friend still has it I gave him several scrap computers for recycling purposes this board however did work and had an AMD Athlon II X2 (what number I forget I think 245?) It is only AM3 so I don't know if AM3+ is needed for your purpose.
It does have 4 ram slots it takes DDR3

Longshot.. But does anyone have an old 5.25 floppy drive? Working on an old 286 and the drive is dead.

You'd have better luck over at vcfed.org. Any old 5¼ drive you find is going to have issues at this point, you're better off trying to fix the one you have. There are an eye watering number of different standards for both the drives AND the media, many of which are not compatible with each other. The most common formats are 360k, 720k and 1.2mb, but there are dozens in between with different bit rates, track densities, single or double sided, and even the file system itself.

Assuming you have a later dumb floppy drive and not an earlier hideously complex one, there's really not a lot that can go wrong with them. Leaking electrolytics or shorted tantalums are a common problem, as are faults external to the drive. There could be a fault in the disk controller, cabling, motherboard or even power supply.

I've had really good luck with Ebay for 5.25" drives for my retro PC's. Of the last 4 that I purchased, all have worked just fine. If you want to go the alternative route, you can use a Gotek floppy emulator in place of the real floppy drive. The Gotek also makes getting information/program/games to and from the system 10x easier since you can just use a modern computer to transfer the files.

JK Wrangler wheel spacers....a set of 4 with lug nuts included...also included is a spare tire adapter to mount deep offset wheels on the spare tire carrier if you need it....these are dirty but Ill clean them before sipping..

Im guessing 20 bucks tops to ship them.

Are the DVD burners IDE, SATA, or a mix?
Potentially interested in one to finally fill this empty 5.25 bay missing a faceplate in my case after 8 years, but I know it's probably more trouble than it's worth to ship only one.
Thanks!

I have a few 1366 xeons and some ECC DDR3. How much do you need?

Haha, I remember when the Xoxide tray thing was new (over 15 years ago). Unfortunately, the PC tower is next to the TV, so about 9-10ft away. I got tired of re-taping it closed with electrical tape, so I now keep it open for airflow :).
Get the drawer then. Failing that go old school. Grab a wiremesh pencil holder, cut top and bottom off and flatten it then form to shape and hold in via glue

All SATA. 1 drive is 1 lb 8 oz., So cheapest would probably be usps flat rate bubble mailer. I can fit all 5 in a usps medium flat rate.
