I found this article while doing my regular check of Storage Review. What caught my eye was the specs of this unit:
What caught my eye is that there is no mention of a "RAID On Chip" or other such processor. Furthermore, considering the fact that a web configurator does not need 4 multi-core Xeons to run, I assume that the horsepower on tap is dedicated to RAID functionality.
Would that be a valid assumption?
Platform Configuration:
Processor: 4x Xeon E5620
DRAM Memory: 192GB
Flash Memory: 1200GB
