Hey guys, I wanted to know if there was an easier way in switching sound from my speakers to my TV. I have a TV connected to my computer and when I want to watch it, I have to change the Default Device to the TV and vise versa. Is there an easier way besides switching back and forth the default devices?

Passive pre-amp. Or built in pre-amp in an amp or receiver with a digital section. A DAC can do this too.

Currently I have 2 studio monitors plugged into an active subwoofer that goes into my audio interface( M-box 3). My TV is connected to my graphic card via HDMI. I will try out those 2 programs you recommended.

what i do (i have multiple audio devices / dacs / interfaces..blah blah blah)

is i just made a "special" shortcut to sound control panel pinned to taskbar (basically as describled here)

http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/18889/windows-7-pin-items-in-control-panel-to-the-taskbar/

first make copy of link to sound control panel put some place (in my case my documents)

but blah blah new shortcut

target:

C:\Windows\explorer.exe "C:\Users\administrator\Documents\Sound - Shortcut.lnk"

to give it the icon for the sound control change icon

%SystemRoot%\System32\mmsys.cpl (browse)

then pin this short cut to taskbar
