Okay, this is really weird. Anyone know a lot about video drivers?
I installed a few new drives in my Shuttle ST20G5 recently, and installed Windows 2000 Professional on the new boot drive.
I then proceeded to install the new ATI Catalyst drivers, first the ones for the onboard Xpress 200 chipset, and then for the X800XT in the PCI-E slot.
I have 3 monitors:
an LCD at 768x1024 (yes, turned portrait) on the Xpress 200,
a Viewsonic CRT at 1280x1024 on the X800XL
and an identical LCD also at 768X1024 on the other channel of the X800XL.
Now, they didn't work worth a damn for some reason on Catalyst 6.anything. So I installed 5.13 from December 2005 and the LCDs are working great.
However, for some reason the computer forgets about the CRT on shutdown or restart.
Whenever I reboot, the CRT is set at 640x480, 256 color, 60mhz and positioned to the far right of both LCDs, rather than in the middle as intended.
I made a Catalyst Control Center profile that fixes it in one click, but I still have to drag the toolbar onto the CRT from where it was put on reboot, on the Xpress 200's LCD.
I have Surroundview turned on in the BIOS.
All this worked before, and when I attach my old hard drive and boot it still works fine. So I know it's not a hardware issue. The old drive has Catalyst 5.7.
Anyone know what's going on here?
