Surround Speakers setup

I need some help with my 5.1 setup. I live in a town house so i have this weird rectangular livingroom/dining room area. Here's a picture of the setup.

My question is where should i put the surround speakers? They're on stands and bc of the dining room table, they have to stay right behind the couch. Should i keep them how the are or should i separate them(Option B(the arrows show the sound direction))

I am but I think its too close. how do you guys usually set yours up? behind or on the sides?

I used to use an option B style set-up in my bedroom, 10x10 room, lol. I liked it a lot more.

Is it possible to put the speakers behind the dining table? Like way back there? That could be sweet.
