Hoping someone can answer this, as I don't have any direct experience with it, and Supermicro has been helpful, but not helpful enough
For starters... I have this case and motherboard:
case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811152234
mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813182821
I'm using 4x WD Red's in RAID-10 with the on-board LSI controller, but I'm a little confused as to how to set these up with this backplane that is present in this case. I see they offer something called "SGPIO" which is what I think I want, but unsure, as they also have I2C connections which I don't think I can use anyhow. I'm also concerned with the lack of SATA-III connectivity, this card (733TQ) only supports SATA-II speeds.
Anyone with this combo have any experience with setting it up? Kinda stuck on how to proceed![Frown :( :(](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
