Streaming Video Problem

am having a problem where when I try to view streaming video from the Internet it looks like this:

As you can see everything is red, green, blue, purple, etc. When I watch DVD movies or use the TV tuner, everything is fine. What's up?

Specs:
ECS KV2-Lite MOBO (old MOBO had same problem)
AMD X2 3800+
2GB RAM
ATI AIW 9800 Pro 256MB with latest ATI drivers (old drivers had same problem)
Windows XP SP2 with all updates
Some drives
 
definitely codec...prolly xvid. either find which codec it is and get it, or get a codec pack...ace's codec pack usually gets the job done (pretty sure thats the name)
 
The codec pack did not work. Then I re-installed Windows Media Player 10 which fixed the problem.
