Strange problems

For the last week or so, maybe once a day, my computer locks up for a few seconds, the screen goes all f'ed up with artifacts and stuff and then it 'sort' of goes back to normal. By sort of, I mean that everything works but it goes really really slow until I reboot. My cpu and ram are overclocked, but only by about 5%, which is nothing. Anyone have any idea of what is causing this problem?

Set your system back to stock speeds and tell us if there's any difference. This is always step #1 in computer troubleshooting.

done! but since it happens fairly infrequently and at random I will have to wait to find out if it actually worked. In the mean time, if anyone has any other ideas of what might be causing this problem please let me know.

Check out your cooling system, make sure that that is all good. Also look and see what programs are running in the background (spyware etc) and make sure they aren't causing any problems either.
