Stellaris..new Paradox scifi grand strategy game

Stellaris, 3 times as slow, now with an unplayable mid game!
Game seems to run faster than when I played which was last year. Got to ~2350 in a MP game in a good amount of time and delay between days was playable. Stopped playing to wait for the DLC.

Key to performance in the game, disable xeno-compatibility, purge other AI if you don't need their pops and spawn crisis 50 years early than default so it purges some AI (hope it doesn't spawn next to you).
 
I always played fanatic xenophobes specifically for that purpose. But seriously, it's a poor argument, "Modify the game's default settings because it's not playable the way Paradox meant it to played".
 
Xeno-Compatibility has been a *long* running problem, due in part to the amount of half-species that need to be processed. There really isn't a way around that sadly, thought the performance cost of it is certainly less then it used to be.
