Steam: Square Enix Week

x1000

i'm so geeked it's on pc...but from the reviews...it sounds like it's gonna have to be a buy on sale kinda game.

If you're a fan of the series avoid it all costs. After FME I don't ever want to see another Front Mission game again. They screwed it up that badly.

T_T...it finally gets a domestic pc release and it sucks... i must go cry manly tears now.

I actually play FF7 on W7 32bit with no issue so far. This is with emulated Drives on a netbook though and I'm only on the first disc.

Let me know if you have the same problems with cutscenes as i do, e.g the bike ride fight out of Midgar and also the skiing later on, for me it's in super speed mode lol it's over in about 3 seconds....

Not too many options with FF7 PC version it sucks mostly anyway, tons of problems, grab EPSXE 1.52 and play the PSX version. Save states, much more graphical options with modern Pete's plugins, and tons of tweaking options and fixes. I stored my copy of FF7 PC over a decade ago and haven't touched it since. Plus you can limit framerate in epsxe. ;)

i prefer the pc version due to the better battle models. And while initial release i agree with you on. The community has modded the hell out of the game, and you can get it looking pretty damn good with a few mods/patches...also there is a mod that allows you to use a rip of the ost instead of the crap midi or lower quality psf files. they even have event timing set up.

Front Mission Evolved! I might bite on this later. The game and all DLC for a bit under $18. Not shabby, but I was interested in it anyway, so...it's a maybe (though erring on the side of probably not). Anyone play it here?

D'oh. Can't read. That bad? It's supposed to be more like the Armored Core games, which I'm also a fan of.

There is a lot of crap games you get with that package. You could just buy the few good ones separately when they're on sale (which is often).

I played through SP. It was a pretty decent game. It's definitely armored core style. Nothing like the other front mission games. I wouldn't pay full price for it but at $13 its worth a play through.

The game does not support eyefinity for anyone wondering. I'm not holding it against the game but i was really exited to play it in eyefinity.

i bit... I am a fan of both front mission and armored core. Love it or hate it I showed I want more of those games on the pc :D

This may be a dumb question but can you buy the whole collection as a gift and piece out the games? I have a bunch of the games already but my wife is missing some.

No, you can't. If you already own some of the games, you'll lose the extra copies.

They tried to imitate Armored Core and failed miserably. Not as fun as AC, the bosses were freaking terrible, the level design was alright, the whole game just felt boring. Mech customization was well done though and the game didn't look back. The voice acting was also pretty terrible.

Face it people it's only going to get worse for PC gaming, if your so dead set against DRM just go buy a console and be done with it...

Consoles ARE DRM if you really wanna get critical about it.

damn that front mission price right now is very very tempting, I just bit. at least I'm not paying full price if it sucks hard.

I want Final Fantasy Tactics for PC!!!

best
game
EVAR!

I bought it at release and agree that this game was AWESOME. Since I never played any game like it before and being use to the standard Final Fantasy style, stopped playing it after about an hour into it. About a month later when i finished another game I came back to tactics and was blown away with how good of a game it was.

True story

Who in their right mind would buy Front Missions Evolved when its a console port from hell? It came out in September and is already 75% off? Wow, that game must have taken off!!

How about you save your pennies and get MWLL?
http://www.mechlivinglegends.net

MWLL = Chunk Norris
Front Mission Evolved = Barny

There is no choice.

Links!!

Jimmy, even if your slightly interested in JC2 or think you may have fun with it... it's worth $30. You will get your entertainment/$hr ratio on that title.

If you never played the first you may enjoy it. It's only bad because it's not nearly as good as the first.

Its more like playing supcom 0.5 or JR supcom edition.

I prefer the term the "Chris Taylor stopped caring about PC gamers and tried to make a console RTS" edition of SupCom

BUY SUPREME COMMANDER 2 + DLC NOW IF YOU LIKE RTS! GAME ROCKS!!!

Yeah the original Supcom may have had more going for it. But this game is still fun. For RTS fans new to the series, it's a must buy. For Fans of the original Supreme Commander it's a 50/50 chance that you will dig it. It took me a while to get into it, not its the only Supcom game that I play.

BTW you supcom fan boys. The TA guys look at you just like you look upon Supcom 2 players :p

SupCom didn't match up to TA, but it still felt like its was worthy of being called a spiritual successor to it.

Meh, I'm a TA guy and I thought SC was fine. Not as good as TA but it's still better than the rock-paper-scissors gameplay of most other RTSes *cough*Startcraft. SC2 feels like it's a free version of SC.

You guys need to remember that not everyone is a Supcom nut job. For new comers to the series they will be fine.

I have a lot of TA/SupCom buddies of mine who intially hated SupCom 2 at first. After the patch in November, they are now able to get into a game and enjoy themself. Sure we all look back at TA/SupCom as being a superior title. But we enjoy the new challenges and units of the title.

The good players of supcom are not the good players of SupCom 2. I find myself building the same way, producing the same amount of units and using the same tactics. SupCom 2 is pretty much so 90% SupCom 1. The maps are a little smaller, the graphics aren't exactly a upgrade, the economy is not as perfect as Supcom1, but it's without a doubt worth the $6 and worth my enjoyment.

The game is fine. If you want to carry a grudge your entire life then you will be stuck playing TA till the day you die. And we both know that this is a lie. This of it as a different game and get on with it.

Decided to grab Supreme Commander 2 and its DLC too. Ever since C&C 3, I've been looking for similar RTS games. Hopefully this is it. :p

Kane & Lynch today. While the 2nd game isn't worth mentioning the first one kicked ass! Good game to play and relax with a gamepad too.

Been dying to play Kane and Lynch, bought and downloading. Should be a nice break from BOps until Homefront comes out.

Passed on K&L2 last time it was on sale, but I'm in a bit of a gaming rut so grabbed it today. Not expecting anything great, but for $5 who cares..
