Star Wars Outlaws

I wonder how big of a price drop on Epic after the first sale. Really don't like buying games on the UBI launcher because I never play them still have to tackle Watchdogs 2 and 3 then Avatar.

Its all about the =, equality.
What it means to me! haha

Ubisoft on the Jabba the Hutt controversy:

  • “To clarify, Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, regardless of edition.”
  • “The ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission is an optional, additional mission with the Hutt Cartel along Kay and Nix’s journey across the Outer Rim.”
  • “This mission will be available to those who purchase the season pass or an edition of the game which includes the season pass.”

When I was in the 4th grade I referred to my teacher as Jabba The Hut because she was so heavy. Our school principal, who was a total dick, forced my to apologize - so I stood in front of my teacher and said, “My remark was extremely rude and unkind… I therefore unconditionally apologize… “Jabba,” I said, “… wherever you are… I am sorry.”

This one time I had to stay after to do some Math and these kids grade ahead of me 6th were doing pushups in front of the class for making a spitball device. Also got my mouth washed out with liquid soap for saying shi$ I ran outside and spit it out.

Right...go fuck yourselves Ubisoft (y)

Ya'll want to come up with grand conspiracies for everything. I think the explanation is a whole lot simpler. It's a push to make characters look more "realistic". Real people aren't photoshopped models, so in an effort to make everything feel more "real" we get characters that are supposed to look more like every day people.
The DEI agenda and Alphabet Mafia crap is well known at this point. That's not to say it successfully infiltrates everything, but its pretty obvious when it does. You have companies like Black Rock, Sweet Baby Inc, BGG etc. driving that sort of nonsense. Plus, in this day and age with social media you can often find out who's working on these games pretty easily and check their social media. Yep, check it out and its DEI zombies working on this one. Most people don't want to see realistic characters in their escapism. People want to look at good looking people, not the denizens of Wal-Mart at 2AM muffin topping while riding their Rascal around the snack cake isle.
However, we've also reached a point with realistic graphics where the uncanny valley is rearing it's head again. Subtle issues with animations, face proportions being slightly off, one or two issues with how something was designed/altered, etc. and it triggers something in our minds to be put off by what we're seeing.
This is a cop out and straight up bullshit. Graphic artists and even AI can generate good looking people that look fairly realistic. Making characters homely and ugly is a choice.

More realistic than the *actual* model ??? Nonsense. It is absolutely an attempt to make a game more "accessible" so the mythical (ie non-existent) female gamer won't be offended by the character being designed for the male gaze. This is not a conspiracy, its just a simple fact.

People offering alternatives that aren’t word-for-word copies of what every dumbass grifter on YouTube is screeching about is not “gaslighting”. Maybe, just maybe, there isn’t some industry wide conspiracy to prevent you from spanking it to female video game characters:
Nice. A word for word rehash of the *exact* rebuttal from every corrupt gaming "journalist" on earth - if you like attractive characters in games, you just want porn in your game. So original

This is complete bullshit as well. Every actual female gamer I know wants an attractive protagonist even if its female. This is regardless of them being straight or bisexual or whatever. We don't usually get numbers on what people do in games, but BioWare actually released information on the Mass Effect games a couple of times. In the series' original release, some 86% of Commander Shepard's were male, many of which used the default appearance though many of them were customized as well. Unless you want to believe a significant portion of Mass Effect fans are homosexual, the mythical male gaze doesn't apply here.

The fact is, many of the most popular actors and actresses are all attractive people. It's always been this way. Again, people don't want to look at ugly people in their escapist entertainment regardless of the gender or sexual orientation.

I'm not a fan of pre-order exclusive missions...I understand the need to make pre-orders more valuable because as is there's zero point to pre-ordering but don't make it story content...the 3-day Early Access stuff is fine (although if it were me I'd make it 2 weeks or 1 month Early Access to make it actually worth something)

And they like their men looking attractive as well. Of course I don't mind if not every single character is extremely good looking. But some games clearly take it too far.
Yeah, I'm fairly certain the DEI bubble and all that body positivity crap has burst already. There are a number of holdouts and they don't want to stop forcing the agenda. However, we're seeing the end of the last wave of "we're gonna lose a shitload of money because we are pandering to 6-8% of the population / get woke = go broke, phenomena". A number of publishers and media outlets will continue this crap (Disney) because they invited these "Specialists" into their corporate culture and getting rid of them is a matter of the franchises and companies that own them, going bankrupt. None of them will voluntarily quit.

As consumers, we are over it. But it's gonna keep on keeping on. So, vote with your wallets and put these fuckers out of business. It's the best way to protest. No need to rehash this political shit ad nauseum. Just don't buy their shit.

When I’m playing a 3rd person game, if I have a choice between playing as a male or a female, I’ll always choose to play as a female, and, if there’s a character creator, I’ll always try to make her look as sexy as I can (it should go without saying that my definition of ‘sexy’ is naturally going to be different from everyone else’s).

I can easily say this at this forum - but the truth is I would hesitate to say this out loud in front of a group of people I don’t know if there were females in the group… and I absolutely would not say it at work.

Thant’s a problem.

I always choose the 3 B's--Big Burly Barbarian with the massive jaw and fucked up face, scars and tattoos.

I agree with you. I think we are over the hump on the DEI stuff and alphabet Mafia pandering in entertainment. Unfortunately, we will probably still see vestiges of the woke garbage for several more years.

Yes. These groups are thoroughly embedded in all forms of media. Most big companies have an entire division of DEI/Mafia employees that are on the payroll. We get the occasional piece of content that sneaks out here and there. Like Shogun, which is a pretty damn fine show. Well acted, incredible character development and good storytelling overall. Fallout, arguably was pretty good. Maybe not to the hardcore fans... sure it has some injected agendas and such but overall, for newbies, it was a hit. It revitalized the franchise overnight. Though I thought it was gonna be a piece of crap, due to the director and others speaking about not pleasing fans and such. Someone there cared, the guns looked great. Costumes very good, some of the tongue in cheek humor was conveyed and the nice easter eggs like Yum-Yum deviled eggs, Cram, Red Rocket and more were enough to make me dust off that FO4 and reinstall it for another go. Not perfect, but I liked their props (like the Vertibird and 10mm pistol). Goggins sold/stole the show for me, his charisma is carrying it.

Some signs of life are out there. Take Sisu, I would never have expected some sort of grindhouse, pulp western set at the end of WWII to hit the screen. It was a gorefest and a pleasure to watch. There are occasional gems like Godzilla Minus One that embarrass the entirety of Hollywood. That's another great, low budget, near masterpiece of story telling with zero agenda.

There are signs of life, but we're not out of the nightmare yet.
