Hey guys

I need some advice. I have a xps m170 laptop.
2ghz pentium m
1.5 gb ram
120gb hard drive
7800gtx video card
1920x1200 screen

I love the crap out of it. The thing is that it is not dual core
and the native resolution of the screen is going to start killing
the video card. A close friend wants to buy it from me.
I checked new egg and for what he offered me I can build a core 2 system
with 2gbs of ram and the 320meg 8800 and overclock it all until a singularity
forms in my case.

My current desktop is an old s754 athlon 3200 and 6800gt.
I would just replace the mobo, cpu and video and memory and add a new
optical drive.

What would you guys do? I am having a very hard time deciding.
Thanks guys

What type of power supply you got in that bad boy now?

I think I would go to the build if gaming was my highest priority.

I would in a heart beat--laptop isn't quite small enough to be carried with you everywhere, and it can't really be upgraded as it is. You'll lose the portability of a laptop form, but you'll more than make up for it in increased power.

I dont remember the brand off the top of my head. I am at work now and cant check.

Ive had it for about 2 years. Its 500 watt and will handle the 6800gt overclocked and 3 hard drives and 2 optical drives. I am gonna cut it down to one hard drive and one optical in the build I am planning.

Yeah, I am kinda leaning twords building the new system. Do you guys know what sitting on a couch does to your counter strike skills.

Gives you somethign soft to punch when someone cheats?

I suck at playing any sort of games on couches. I fall asleep too easy
