SFF-8087 breakout cables to SATA drives

Does anyone know if the following 3ware cable is compatible with other manufacturers cards.

I looked it up at one of the "approved" vendors and it says "Works ONLY with one of the following 3Ware RAID controllers:
9650SE (-4LPML, -8LPML, -12ML, -16ML)
9550SXU (-12ML, -16ML)"

I want to use this on a AOC-USAS-L8I for work.

I'm using the 3ware cables with my HP expander with no problems.

I use those exact cables on an LSI raid controller.

Thanks. I will probably order 2 cards and 4 sets of cables to test before I add these to production..
