Saw this in the morning ad. It's not screaming hardware by any stretch of the imagination, but the price is hard to beat for a basic build:

Sempron 140 w/ MSI K9N6PGM2-V2 motherboard for $40-$10MIR = $30
Sempron specs:
2.7 GHz
AM3
45W TDP
1MB L2 cache

Motherboard specs:
2x240 DDR2, 800/667MHz
1x PCIe x16, 2x PCI, 1xPCIex1
2xSATA 3Gbps, 1xIDE (2 devices)
4xUSB rear, 4x front
8-channel audio

Hard drive, memory, cpu cooler (assuming this is oem), and my parents have a new computer!

Wow, might have to take a trip tonight.

Too bad that MB likely cant unlock the disabled core...

Was looking for a cheap combo to run as a server as I gave my current one to a friend as his computer was crappy. Should do well enough serving files. Might sell that mobo and get one with Gigabit ethernet and ACC though. Getting something for free via unlocking is always fun :D

I got the last 2 at the Northgate Sacramento store last night.

Both do around 250 fsb, 3.4Ghzish. With a good board with vcore etc adjustments and better ram they could prolly do 4+. I cant believe how cool they run. (26 idle 32 load) If the 2nd core could have been unlocked these would be crazy nice.

Only 2x SATA = :(
1x IDE = :) (seems to work just fine, often finicky on some new MB's with the single IDE)

PS2 is nice as well if needed for a drop into an older setup.
