Text looks darn good in Game mode as I can barely tell the difference. I bought this for 4:4:4 PC mode but ended not not using it. How ironic.
Nonetheless. This thing rocks as PC monitor. 4K gaming is mind blowing coming from 1080P.
did you run the 4:4:4 tests in game mode? mine passes.
Does the nvidia control panel in adjust display settings lag horribly on this tv for anyone else? I need to have the panel on the other external panel to have it behave normally.
i just did the chroma test http://abload.de/img/chromaresmzjib.png again. i saved the image and opened with Windows Image viewer. this is what i got in PC mode with UHD color on and the following Nvidia settings:
Nvidia control panel
3840x2160 @60hz
32bit desktop color depth
8bpc output color depth
RGB color format
Full dynamic range
i had to move in closer with my phone to get the 4:4:4 image to show up in the picture. the image is the same size (1920x1080) in each shot. the only difference was me sliding the sharpness from 0 to 50.
So after reading this thread is the un40k6300 a good TV to play pc games fps so many extra TVs mentioned . I have gone cross-eyed I need cliff notes for this thread.
Finally, the 1154 update is ready for the KU6290! It doesn't show up in Samsung's website though, but the TV is downloading it.
Interesting. What do you see in Game mode with sharpness set at 0 then?
Now, the YouTube app does load HDR videos correctly:
That said, I see ZERO difference in these videos - we know this panel doesn't reproduce HDR in all its glory. However, I did see a noticeable difference when loading Prime video, where I played Mozart in the Jungle as I know it's recorded in HDR, and boy did that look way better. Not HDR-amazing, but definitely improved: better contrast, smoother gradations, etc.
people on the Samsung forum confirmed that the KU7000 does get the pop up now.
Did anyone get a new update ?
It was giving some dialog boxes to consent and a lot of artifacts on screen while I think the update was going on.

On my 6290 I had automatic updates turned off but something with the policies updated when I turned on the TV. I went and checked my updates and I am running 1150, it shows the newest 1154 available but will not install it when I try. Weird thing when I turned on the TV to those messages I had the blue flickers everywhere as mentioned earlier but a simple power cycle solved the issue.
with the PC set to "game console" and sharpness at 0 you can only see 4:2:2. with sharpness at 50 you can still easily see 4:2:2 and can just barely make out 4:4:4
If you want to see if the TV is in HDR mode, press the middle button on the remote. Look on the top right next to the resolution info. There is a rectangle box that says [UHD] next to it should be an [HDR] box too if the signal is HDR.
any one have ISF calibration setting that they can post? its making my eyes hurt and the colors are off compared to my Dell IPS, i'm not saying that i wan it to look like and IPS but close enough so my eyes dont hurt.
