I recently acquired a mac g3 with a 450mhz processor and loaded with ram.

It was lacking a hard drive and the video fails to initiate.

I put in a adaptec 29160 scsi adapter and a 18gig 15k cheetah, which appears to work.

Right now, there is a ati rage 8meg card running from pci.

If I replace the video card, with the scsi card/HD work in the g3?

Am I on the right track?

thanks

Provided the SCSI card supports Apple's open interface, yes. Older Macs don't use a BIOS so standard PCI cards won't work. PCI and AGP cards have to specifically support Mac to work.
