Resolution auto downgrading each time I turn on TV

I just got my Media Center together, and one thing I've noticed is when I turn on the TV to start using the media center, the resolution has gone down by itself. I can fix this by minimizing and then maximizing media center, but this is tedious every time I turn on the TV. Is there any way to make it stay at 1080p all the time? I'm connecting via HDMI to my Sony receiver.

I'm getting this as well in Windows 7. I close and relaunch MC to fix it. I'm assuming its something with the driver I'm using but this driver allows me to turn the tv off and back on and get picture without restarting or putting the computer in standby.

Yea it's pretty annoying, would love to find a solution
