This is just throwing me off. How can I set security permissions on the CURRENT_USER key. Ofcourse I dont want to do it by hand so any automated way? A GPO will only allow me to setup the .Default under USERS. Basically, I want to take away access to the following 2 keys from the user.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\General\"Wallpaper"
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\"Wallpaper"

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks

Aren't you in a domain?

If so, create a GPO that removes that permission from the Users, or specify a blank .bmp on a server share and give your users read & execute permissions only.

For an idea:

If you're not in a domain, not sure what to tell you.

feigned: I am in a domain and I do have a policy that's just like that. Problem is the user can still save a picture down to disk, open it with Windows Picture Viewer and click set as wallpaper. And for some damned reason it does it.

oakfan52: I'll look at that and see if I can do it with that. Thanks
