i haven't been keeping up to date with linux much since i last installed redhat 9

i go to the site now and see something called the fedora project, is that red hat's new version of linux?

or what distro do u guys recommend, i liked the way redhat 9 was, i would like something comparable, i like the easy to use interfaces, and i'm don't think there is anything different about the command line based aspects of it. such as gcc and all

fedora project is the free, non-commercial version of their distro. all current "red hat" versions are pay-for-use operating systems.

if you liked redhat before, you might as well get fedora core 2, as it's the latest offering. i've always been partial to suse and gentoo, but everyone here is different.
