Radeon 9500 has reddish video playback

I've got a radeon 9500 (mb is an abit nf7-s) and the video playback is very red and black - extremely difficult to make out. I've got the updated drivers for my vid card. It does this with mpg, avi and dvds - but not with quicktime files. It does it with winamp, windows media player, and with my dvd software. Anyone know what's the cause of this?

oh, ive also tried different combinations of codecs: divx 5.1.1, nimo, and neodivx.

Make sure you dont have any Smartshader effects on.
