Question about VM

I would like to know if there is available VM software capable of assigning 4 or 8 CPU cores to single VM - I am looking for something cheap/free.

I'm pretty sure all free ones are 2-cores only, but I know that the upcoming Hyper-V from Microsoft can do 4 cores.
