PS2 SP/DIF Pass-thru with GTXP

OK, I'm having trouble getting audio from my PS2 passed through my Game Theater XP and outputted to my computer speakers (I'm in a dorm and space is limited, hence this setup). Is there anyway to connect the PS2 to the SP/DIF input on the GTXP and pass this signal through to my speakers? I've made the connections and configured the GTXP control panel so that I think it should work, but I get nothing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this.
