Hey guys...
I currently do application development at work using math programming tools like R, matlab, SAS, and VB (for excel). I have a pretty good background in mathematics, algorithms, and data structures, but I was looking to further develop my programming skills, and possibly learn a more general programming language like C++ or Java, and learn how to program for specific OSes, like Windows, Mac, etc...
Anyway, my question is, what are the well known programmer communities/websites? You know, a place with a community that is pretty much dedicated to learning programming with a wide variety of applications. A good forum is primarily what I'm after, but my Google-fu seems hopelessly week at the moment.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks!
