Problems installing 4.12!!

Aight. Uninstall 4.11, restart, clean, install 4.12. As soon as the install window with the ATI background comes up i get an error message: Setup failed to run installation: (0x80040707).

I've redownloaded the 4.12's twice already and now gonna try going back to 4.11.

X800 Pro modded to XT PE.
 
The 4.11's install perfectly fine. I also noticed that after trying to install 4.12 again after the first time from startup, the extracting has a problem. It has a problem with extracting the Setup.exe. So I'm guessing its the actually driver setup files that ATI is hosting... Anyone else?
 
Well I got my 4.12's installed but i had to go manually into C:\ATI\SUPPORT\wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-082-041130a-019577c\Driver folder and C:\ATI\SUPPORT\wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-082-041130a-019577c\CPanel folder and run setup.exe after extracting the files.

You need .NET Framework 1.1 installed in order for them to work right.
 
i also had a problem when installing these. i installed it over 4.12b and got an error message that said try setting your card in vga mode (or vga drivers or some shit i dont remember). it was weird, but after uninstalling the current drivers and then running system restore i got it to work.
