Possibly first real set of cans.. AKG-K701's?

I haven't heard them, but I have heard several people be disappointed in the low end because they like a lot of bass. The 701 is supposed to be very accurate frequency wise but have a low quantity of bass. Other than that it gets glowing reviews.

Supposed to get significantly better after burn in.
 
I'd probably rather have Beyerdynamic DT880s or DT990s but it's subjective. All I can say is try to listen first.
 
K701 are highly regarded on head-fi.org
im debating about getting a pair myself at the moment
need a good amp/dac

listen first is worthy advice
