possible for FTP server to bring computer out of sleep mode?

I was thinking about running an FTP server on my primary PC to share some files, but I also like my computer to go into S3 sleep after a specified idle period. Would it be possible to configure the PC to wake up when someone tries to connect to the FTP server from the internet (i.e. not from on the LAN)? I've been reading about wake-on-LAN, but from what I understand this won't work over the internet.

Is there any way to do what I am describing?

the wake-on-LAN packet must come from a device that's powered up... ie your router or another computer.

so.... no, I don't believe so.
