PNY 5200 Ultra

I have the GeForce PNY 5200 Ultra with an Abit NF7-S. Everything works fine I load up windows and everything works until I install the Driver Version: 56.72 from nvidia.com
After the win2k bootlogo loads completed and the screen should flicker to the windows log in, it kind of freezes then turns black and thats it. I went back into safe mode and uninstalled the drivers and it works agian till the driver is installed.

Is there any other drivers I can use?

I also used the newest nvidia driver from guru3d same issue
 
Update your motherboard chipset driver and also reinstall/install DX 9.0c and try again.

I actually found that the best working on my 5xxx series 5900 was the 53.03's
 
Ok, I've tried everything. I tried the 53.03. I tried the guru3d ones. I even tried a different monitor!!! Still the same thing. What's going on? Someone help me please!
 
Dunno, could be a bad card or just a borked win 2000 install getting in the way. If you have the means I would go ahead and backup your stuff and try a fresh install, or try switching to XP Pro.
 
these are fresh installed OS from a clean format, new HDs =\ I believe its the pos card. I'm still up for any suggestions
