With the recent NV driver update and the 20+ MS updayes a few weeks ago I dont know where to start.

My box is booting up into a single monitor mode even after surround has been set and working.

Uefi shows on the left monitor.

Initial windows loading shows on the left monitor.

When I get the windows log on it is on the center monitor and as it loads both side monitors lose sync.

Checking the NV control panel I am still in Surround -- 5760*1080 shows as an available resolution but errors when selected.

If I disable surround at that point sometimes the side monitors sync and sometimes I need to go tot he control panel and extend the desktop to them to get them to sync.

Either way I can then enable surround and go about my business.

That is until I turn off the machine for the night at which point it starts over.

Doing a restart as opposed to turning it off does not trigger this problem.

What I considering doing first is a clean install of the NV Driver.

I know a vast wealth of information and an enormous history of experience exists on the [H] forums. Any thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

Check if Windows Update snuck an older NVIDIA driver in on you. Microsoft marked one of the driver updates as Important and may have gotten installed if you either have Automatic Updates turned on, or just clicked install without checking the list. The version installed by Windows Update is 347.90 and will install over the 350.05 or 350.12 driver.

Thanks,

I am at driver version 350.12

I suggest you back up your data and give it the old Reformat and Retry. While your at it give the new Windows 10 Beta a spin.

I've heard that if one only has a hammer then everything looks to be a nail.

I will keep this option in mind.

I also thank you for your input.

I have also noticed my task bar is on a different edge of a random monitor each time I start up.

Should anyone else encounter this:

I enabled the ctrl-alt-s switch single to multi-monitor hot keys. I've used that at boot the last few days.

Today, out of the blue I am booting properly again.

Patch yesterday?
