I've seen so many people complain about battery life (if they only knew what people dealt with in the 80's, 90's and earl 2000's...) especially with the Note 7 problems b/c of trying to cram "battery life" in it. What I'm wondering is why we haven't seen case mod's like a new case back that has a buldged spot over the battery so a larger battery can be used, or possibly an additional battery placed in parallel??

These devices are already so darn thin adding an extra 5-7mm really shouldn't prove problematic, especially if it give 2-3x the battery life!

People add protective polycarbonate cases that make their phones thicker while only providing protection. Maybe add room for additional battery capacity.

Anyone know why this would not be a good idea - or have ideas on this?

Which phone are we talking about here?
For it to be even possible it needs a removable battery. Having said that I have seen a few larger batteries for some of the more popular phones. Having said that the battery case is the more popular option anymore.
