I was thinking how if the pentium M actually jhad affordable desktop mobos that it would be the ultoimate Htpc proccesorIf you were able to get one then what other components would you use?.
I dont think there is one desktop motherboard that supports the Pentium M processor. Also it would be very impractical. Pentium M processors are expensive for one, also the difference in power consumption is to trivial to warrent even trying.
The Athlon XP-M and 64 series have good thermal properties. The Athlon 64, when paired with a Cool 'n Quiet supporting motherboard, can dynamically adjust frequency, voltage, and fan speed according to CPU load, making for a very quiet home theater setup.
Ok, "buy" was a stretch. There is a mATX Pentium-M board made by Radisys, that has AGP and PCI slots, etc. It is looking like they only sell to OEMs though. Akiba linked to a store selling those boards and systems based on them, if you can read Japanese.
