Silly question, maybe, but is there any word of anyone making a motherboard with both AGP and PCI Express? I want to "futureproof" my purchase (as much as possible). Thanks!
Unfortunately, the technical hurdles of making such a motherboard are just too great. As I've seen on a few i915 and i925X motherboards for Intel CPUs, "AGP" support, if it even comes at all on PCI-e chipsets, will come only from routing an AGP slot directly off of a regular PCI slot. This doesn't bode well for those who wish for both true PCI-e and true AGP8X support on the same motherboard.
