PC 8800GT In A New Mac Pro

Yup. You just need an 8800GT that has a 128K ROM. Most have on a 64K ROM but a few have the bigger one that is need for the EFI portion that Apple uses. The EVGA cards have the bigger ROM as do a couple of others.

Just flashed my EVGA 8800GT SC card with the 8800 GT Mac BIOS and it works great in OS X and Vista 64. Apple wants $399 and I only paid $200!

Congrats, that's awesome! I wouldn't ever buy RAM or hard drive upgrades from Apple, hopefully we'll have better options for videocard upgrades in the future. You know, ones that don't require extra work on our part. :)

Did it, and it broke TF2 and a few other games.

(if you count translucent textures in TF2 being rendered as wireframe and coughAssassinsCreedcough running like a gimp compared to what it was with the stock evga bios as broken)

But it does work on the mac just fine.
