I've searched the net and googled for a while but have had no luck finding anything on this. Most of the posts I've found relating to this in any way have been with a 360. I have an original XBOX and an ASUS VH236 Monitor. I would like to play some old xbox games such as Phantasy Star and use it to play emulators on. The only inputs my monitor has are VGA, DVI, and HDMI. I was wondering if I got a dvd player that has RCA inputs and HDMI or DVI output would it make my XBOX usable on my monitor? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

They make dvd players with composite inputs? I've never seen one. If it allowed you to use it like we used to do with VCRs, then I suppose it should work...

I'd just grab something like this VGA adapter for the original xbox instead of fussing with a DVD player.

Hmm.. that looks very interesting. Does anyone have any experience using that product?

They works just fine AFAIK, but you need something else to pass the sound from Xbox.
