I'm in the market for a new monitor (for home use) and am looking at the cinema displays. At work I use a 27" LED backlit cinema display and it is extremely nice. The problem is I generally prefer 30" screens.

How do the older 30" cinema displays (with DVI) stack up compared to the monitor I use at work?

The older display is wider gamut than the current display, but I can think of no other advantage it would have over the new 27".

Only advantage I can think of is higher dot pitch on the 30". The new 27" panels are going to be a lot nicer otherwise.

Higher dot pitch? That's a personal thing. For me, it'd be a disadvantage.

The higher vertical resolution should be a much more global advantage.
