Odd folder problem

I'm having a rather peculiar problem.

I cannot open any folder named "counter-strike".

Once I double click any folder named "counter-strike" it opens the folder for a millisecond then immediately closes it.

Obviously this is a problem because I'm trying to get my 1.6 on but everytime I try to play, it immediately shuts off.

Again, this is just a singular problem with any folder named exactly "counter-strike", doesn't matter what files are in it or where it's located, it just won't open any folder named that.

Bumping this. As this seems to be a reoccuring problem no matter how many times I reformat.

Does anybody know a work around to this? Like booting counter-strike from a different folder..
