Hey All,

It's time to replace my current rig, faithfully OC'd many years and wearing into instability.
My understanding is that OC'ing RAM is where it's at for Ryzen 3000 stuff, far better than messing with the CPU.

Ideally I am after an mITX build as such:
3700x
X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI (the only decent board I can get locally)
QVL RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ (2 x 16GB) 3866/PC4 30900, timings: 18-18-18-38.

I've heard that OC'ing larger DIMMS may be fruitless, so I am wondering if I should bother attempting to find decent RAM to OC or not at 32GB? 16GB isn't enough for my needs.

The goal is to roll 3866 @3800MHz [1900 fclock, 1:1] - feel free to tell me if I am out of my mind or offer any recommendations.

Thanks!!

i have not played with the timing but have used ryzen dram calculator to change sub timings with good results.

That is a good goal but the BIOS will likely de-tune sub timings to run that speed so the largest gains will come from tweaking them which is a slow process.

Depends, if You are solely gaming with that RAM, then You might want to look for better RAM. I am running 3000Mhz at 16-15-15 on my Ryzen 3600 and it runs just fine.
