Nvidea 7800gtx artifacting w/ vista

exactly as title says. i had my 7800gtx 256 replaced via Evgas RMA process 3 months ago, everything was fine. installed RC1 vista everything fine; for a while. now when i boot vista the screen artifacts (similar to what happened pre-RMA). load XP no problems, play any game no problem. not a heat issue as it happens as soon as things start up. doesnt happen in BIOS (like it did before) but it may happen in the near future me thinks.
what should i do, any tests I can do?
 
i think if it were a cooling issue, i would have trouble playing FEAR or CSS or CoH (all settings maxed); which i can do under XP. Again its only when i boot into Vista. Maybe ill try turning off "aero glass". i think its just a video memory corruption problem (as it was before) and given time XP and the BIOS will show similar artifacts. Shit maybe i can wait it out to RMA till their dx10 parts come out and upgrade to that...?

oh and i believe i boot with an OC in XP (as stated in sig) while in VISTA its stock. maybe ill try new drivers from nvidia
