MIght be...just showed up for me :-/I'm guessing the 8% ebay bucks is a targeted thing because I haven't seen a coupon code.
My total came out to $640 + $40 tax = $680 - $51 ebay bucks = $629, and I have $31 from last 1/4 to use, or $598 for me. Still hesitant on this as I want to see what AMD does with Navi.
ebay bucks = cashback?
Not worth it. Ray tracing aside, the performance between the 1080 Ti and 2080 are so close that it would essentially be a side step more than an upgrade.I'm tempted. My 1080Ti is plenty fast for my ultrawide 1440p but I really want to play Metro with RTX GI on. This seems like a better deal than the 2080 Ti.

Disagree. 2080 = better longevity. longer warranty, better resale, more driver improvements, better HEVC NVENC. And I say that as a happy 1080Ti owner, but if I had to replace it, there would be no point getting another one instead of a 2080.
Yep I hear you. But if I can find a 2080 for $600 and sell my 1080 Ti for $500, it's definitely worth $100 for me to play Metro with ray tracing. Not worth it. Ray tracing aside, the performance between the 1080 Ti and 2080 are so close that it would essentially be a side step more than an upgrade.
Buying a 2000 series card for "ray tracing" makes no sense. gonna need a 3080 at least.Yep I hear you. But if I can find a 2080 for $600 and sell my 1080 Ti for $500, it's definitely worth $100 for me to play Metro with ray tracing.
That's what I thought until I saw Metro Exodus. I wouldn't be surprised if there's not another good showing like Metro until the 7nm cards are out, but this is a hobby, not a business - financial justification is different for everybody. Paying $100 for ray tracing in one game is worth it for me, because I love the Metro games and the implementation looks great. Doesn't mean it's worth it for anybody else.Buying a 2000 series card for "ray tracing" makes no sense. gonna need a 3080 at least.
