i almost shit myself on that 3TB HD price but it's a samsung 2 TB....

Was all set to pickup 2 more of the samsung HD204UIs but the promo is max $10 off, not per disk ><

Yeah, I've been waiting fro a killer deal on HDDs for a while. Newegg, you need to pull through and give us some REAL deals.

They've had some awesome deals on graphics cards and crucial m4 ssds in the last week. Gotta give them some credit.

Curious, the Vertex 3 240 gig up there, it it the same as this one but just an OEM version?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227707

Or is there some other difference?

The one on sale writes 25MB/s slower and has 5,000 IOPS 4KB random writes less. Odd that there would be such a small difference, it wouldn't seem to make sense to manufacture two versions at such close specs. Unless the ones on sale were some kind of earlier run and new manufacturing techniques give the ones you linked a bit better performance.

Promo Codes are functionally worthless in California with Newegg. Unless you really really want/need the product. The tax on that 570 surpasses the 20 H discount.

What is wrong with the Newegg site I haven't been able to log in for hours and I want to buy some stuff......

yep, got my Corsair 600T a week ago because of a deal they were running (48 hour or 72 hour deal IIRC), got my dream case for $149.99 and will be getting $25 back with a rebate, Corsair and Newegg are pretty high on my list right now...

there was a recent transision (atleast in vertex 2's) to a smaller-nm manufacturing process. the new chips have not been recieved very well, as they are definately slower. the product numbers and everything are the same, which has led a good deal of people to complain about it on the OCZ forums. most of those threads get deleted.

the controversy comes from OCZ claiming they switched to the newer chips because they are cheaper to produce. yet consumers have seen no differences in price, nor is there any way of determining which type you are going to get before you buy one.

OCZ offered on their forums a chance for anyone with the "new" chips (24 or 28nm) to send their drive in for a replacement for the "old", better chips (32nm i think). if you pay shipping both ways plus $10 for the cost of the better, older chips. gee thanks OCZ

I'm familiar with all of that, but to my knowledge that was prior to the release of the Vertex 3s. And I had thought that the smaller nm Vertex 2's were now under the "VTXE" to differentiate the two.

And the Vertex 2's do seem to be cheaper than most other equivalent drives, sales notwithstanding, and on the higher side of performance. I've been running 2 of the supposedly "terrible" drives in my rig and haven't had an issue yet. Although my Agility2 boot drive went from a 7.1 WEI to a 5.9 in a week...still haven't tested further to see WTF is up with that.

sweet deal on the monitor. I may toss my asus on my desk and use that samsung as a bedroom TV :D

Almost 2 full days later and NE still hasn't fixed the typo on the 3TB vs. 2TB HDD deal.

I wonder what the vegas odds would be they fix the post before next weeks deals come out

Yet another one who damned near leapt through my display to grab that HDD deal... Only to see it was not what was described. Lame.

LOL

Probably more like 100:1. Unlike Directron and maybe another vendor, NE doesn't rarely reads posts in their threads, from my experience.

I bet no one PM'd NE about the typo, and even if one did, they'd probably still not fix it. :p

lol, I know if I was the newegg rep, I sure as hell wouldn't read them seeing as how people always thread crap all over them.

The item description in question has been updated. If any of you have any other questions or issues, let me know. Thank you.

How about a discount on the Lian Li PC-Q11 :D

The recent customer promo code for the white version does not count.

I know...I was poking fun at the newegg webmaster. If they ever actually paid attention to this stuff and the feedback it would take them under 1 day to fix these problems.
