 Prices subject to change without notice.

yes very nice 7970 deal though I wonder if anything will top the diamond 7970 lucky few of us got the other month though :D I don't even know if the best BF/CM deals will top that since it's a phasing out though I suspect with the new game bundle some deals will be almost as great if you consider the whole

XFX?

Aren't they kinda.... bad?

Edit: Looked through the feedback, this card is a dud. I wouldn't touch it with a 50% discount.

XFX is bad? First Ive heard of it. I thought they used to be about the top GPU maker?! Did I miss something?

As an aside, Newegg also has the Corsair H100 for $95 shipped with promo code EMCJJNA27 plus a $15 mail in rebate! Thats $80 for this beauty! Best price Ive seen on it ever! Must be trying to clear them out for the H100i's.

They're not exactly bad, but they're no EVGA/HIS.

This card in particular is pretty lackluster, though. Their Black Edition 7970 on the other hand looks pretty good.

XFX's first-gen cards of a given GPU release are usually reference design AMD/ATI. This is good; the reference designs may have a louder (reference as well) cooler, but are often overbuilt, as AMD has fairly demanding build specs on their reference cards; if anything, they are a little "over-built".

Like a lot of other vendors, after about six months, XFX (and others, like Sapphire) release Rev. 2 cards. Depending on the model, some of these are cheapened; they might have better coolers, but their voltage regulation may not be as sturdy, power phases may be different, or other changes may be made to lower the cost. It becomes hard to tell what you're getting as more models become released. And, if you're an overclocker, Rev. 2 designs may not have as much headroom unless you buy the higher-end models; in the case of the 5xxx Radeons, a number of Rev. 2 cards didn't have some of the voltage tweaking options that the reference designs did.

It ends up becoming a game of figuring out what you're really getting. With the Radeon 5xxx and 6xxx series, reference design cards usually had an "AMD" brand logo right above the PCIe slot connector. As I haven't owned a 7xxx series card, I can't confirm this, though often reference-design cards start disappearing from the market when the Rev.2 designs come out.

XFX isnt bad, its just they ditched their lifetime warranty and a lot of people are crying foul. For whats its worth i currently have 4 XFX cards and ive had about a dozen over the years. Any cards that had issues, were resolved over RMA -- A lot less painful RMA process then other vendors might i add.
